As part of my exhibition in Glasgow me and the Recoat team made two POWER murals outside the gallery. It was the first time that I have ever made my work on such a large scale. I wouldnt have been able to do it without the help of the Recoat gallery team. Especially Ali, Amy, Gordy and Snookie. You have inspired me to make many more.
In November 2011 me and 2 other artists, Tais Bean, and Paul Garayo took part in a mural making weekend with the amazing kids and residents of the Ross Way social housing development in Limehouse, East London. We then had an exhibition of the murals plus a screening of a short film about the weekend at the John Scurr Community Centre, Limehouse.
‘What began as a foray into communication through illustration evolved into a full-scale two-day mural painting event for the residents at Ross Way, a new social housing development by A2Dominon in Limehouse, East London. Armed with paint brushes and all the colours of an acrylic rainbow, the children launched into an assault of imagination, led by Bureau de Change, an innovative East London arts organisation.’
